2010 International Black Women’s Film Festival

Soror Adrienne Anderson presented her 8th International Black Women’s Film Festival at the David Brower Center in Berkeley, California, on October 8th and 9th, 2010. The festival opened with a family-oriented event: “The Wiz” Sing-a-Long. Open to all ages, people of all ages attended. Soror Johnnie Evans and Man of Iota Lee Evans served as volunteers for the event! 2010 Disabled American Veterans Convention

Soror Delphine Metcalf-Foster is a California director on the national Board of Directors of the Disabled American Veterans. She is an active participant and frequently travels on behalf of the DAV and as an advocate for disabled veterans. On August 28, 2010, Sorors Delphine Carter, Johnnie Evans, and Collette attended entrepreneur Loran Brewster’s online magazine launch for CHEERS! Magazine. The event honored influential women in the Bay Area, and Soror Adrienne Anderson’s film festival (the International Black Women’s Film Festival) was honored in her October 2010 edition.

Memorial – Librarian and Children’s Advocate Effie Lee Morris

The Women Veterans Fair

Soror Delphine Metcalf-Foster emceed the first Women Veterans Fair presented by Congressional Representatives George Miller, Jerry McNerney and John Garamendi. The event was held July 10, 2010 in Pittsburgh, California. The two guest speakers of the day Black women veterans. Soror Delphine entered the United States Army Reserve in 1976 and served honorably until she 711, retired as a decorated First Sergeant in 1996.
